These challenges feel overwhelming — and you're not sure where to turn.

Let's Talk

Mornings are chaos, homework battles drag on for hours, and even small transitions turn into meltdowns.

Your child's worries, rituals, or repetitive behaviors are starting to take over daily life.

Tics are causing stress — for your child, and for you, watching them struggle.

You've tried strategies that work for other kids, but nothing seems to stick for yours.

About Dr. Rachel

Hi, I'm Dr. Rachel — and I'm here to help.

I'm a licensed psychologist who specializes in helping children, adolescents, and parents navigate ADHD, OCD, anxiety, tic disorders, and behavioral challenges.

Ph.D., School Psychology — Michigan State University M.A., School Psychology — Michigan State University B.A., Psychology — The College of Wooster

My approach is practical, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based treatments. I believe therapy should give families clear strategies and real tools that create meaningful change in everyday life.

When families come to me, they're often overwhelmed and unsure where to start. Together, we'll build a plan that helps your child develop skills while making sure you feel supported every step of the way.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

I work with children and young adults ages 3 to 23. Treatment is tailored to each child's developmental level and unique needs, and parents are often actively involved throughout the process to support progress at home and in everyday life.

Yes. Treatment focuses on executive functioning, behavior management, emotional regulation, school support, and parent training. I work with the child and the family together, so parents leave sessions with practical strategies they can use at home — not just insight into the diagnosis.

I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) — the gold-standard, evidence-based treatment for OCD — as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety. These approaches help children gradually face fears and break free from the avoidance patterns that keep anxiety in charge. I also work closely with parents throughout treatment, since how a family responds to anxiety at home has a big impact on outcomes.

Yes. I use Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) and Habit Reversal Training (HRT) to help children manage tics, reduce associated distress, and navigate school and social situations with more confidence.

Very actively. I believe parents are essential partners in therapy — not just observers. Depending on your child's age and needs, parents may attend sessions, receive coaching between sessions, and will always leave with a clear understanding of what we worked on and how to support progress at home. For younger children, parent sessions are often a central part of treatment.

Yes. Appointments are available both in person and via secure teletherapy, allowing families to choose the format that best fits their needs and schedule. Whether meeting virtually or in the office, sessions are designed to provide the same high-quality, evidence-based care.

Yes. I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network. For clients with other insurance plans, services are offered on a self-pay basis. Upon request, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement vary by plan, so I recommend contacting your insurance provider to learn more about your benefits.

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll talk through your concerns, your child's history, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. For younger children, I typically meet with parents first before bringing the child in. From there, we'll build a treatment plan together and discuss what ongoing sessions will look like.

Reach out by phone or email to schedule an initial appointment or free consultation. We'll briefly discuss your concerns, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether my services are a good fit for your family's needs.
